We are a Forest School
St Katharine’s is a small Church of England primary school set in the beautiful and unique location of Savernake Forest. The Forest School programme enables children to fulfil curriculum learning in the outdoor environment.
Welcome message from the Head Teacher
Our school prides itself on the warm and nurturing relationships that it fosters, within a Christian ethos, amongst all its stakeholders. Children are known as individuals and it is our aim not to determine children’s potential but to enable our children to see their potential as unlimited.
What our parents are saying
A Strong Curriculum
Curriculum development and pedagogy are continually evolving. It is now recognised that a full and rich curriculum, designed to ensure that new learning builds on what has previously been taught, is central to strong curriculum models that promote excellent outcomes for children. At St Katharine’s we are proud to be a reflective organisation that strives to build our practice around strong evidence based research.
We are keen to identify best-practice in the education sector and from the many partners that we work with and to adapt that practice to fit our school and the learners that we have here.
Curriculum development and design is a process that is under continuous review. This does not mean that we are constantly changing what we are doing but instead that we are learning from best practise and research to ensure that our children’s experience in and out of the classroom is as good as we can make it.
