Welcome Message from the Head Teacher

Our school prides itself on the warm and nurturing relationships that it fosters, within a Christian ethos, amongst all its stakeholders. Children are known as individuals and it is our aim not to determine children’s potential but to enable our children to see their potential as unlimited.

What our Parents are saying

Parent of Year 1 and Year 3

St Katharine’s is a warm and welcoming school, for both children and parents. My children have made excellent progress during their time at St Katharine’s and always with a smile on their face. The teachers and staff are incredibly supportive, and seem to make lessons fun and engaging to really enhance the children’s learning journey. I couldn’t recommend the school highly enough!

Parent of Year 2 child

We were relocating to the Marlborough area and looked at a number of primary schools. St Katharine’s stood out for a number of reasons: yes, it has a wonderful location, amazing outside space and now even access to Forest School learning. But above all there is a palpable feeling of kindness, community and welcome here. Simply put, the sheer joy of learning and encouraging curiosity in the kids permeates the whole place. It was absolutely the best decision we could have made.

Parent 2019

St Katharine’s has provided a nurturing and inspirational start to our children’s lives.  We have four children who have attended the school and they have flourished.  This is due to the wonderful, caring staff and their commitment and energy to ensure every child fulfils their potential.  St. Katharine’s has high expectations for behaviour in a nurturing environment.  This foundation enables the children to throw themselves in their learning inspiring them to take risks and be inquisitive.
Thanks to St. Katharine’s, confidence blossoms and this is evident during summer school performances when all children sing and perform on the stage in front of their parents.  As a parent we are amazed at how the children sing solos, dance and embrace the stage!  The children are supported by their friends and their teachers and this prepares them for secondary school and beyond. All aspects of the child’s learning are celebrated and as parents we feel supported and well informed.  My children will always have a special place in their hearts for St. Katharine’s and so will we.  We are truly blessed with this wonderful, happy school.

Parent of a Year 4 and Year 6 child

St Katharine’s is a small school with a big heart, it manages to retain a small school feel with a forward-thinking attitude to learning, providing opportunity and challenge for pupils at all levels. There is a real focus on fostering excellent behaviour through core values and a real respect for individuals and the environment. Both my children have flourished in their time at St Katharine’s and I truly believe they are being provided with the best start possible to their educational journey.

Parent of Y2 child

St Katharine’s is a very special school which nurtures well-rounded, happy children.

Parent feedback – 2019

Our three children have all benefited from the welcoming, warm and nurturing environment that is St Katharine’s. Staff across the whole school are highly approachable and knowledgable as well as incredibly supportive when necessary. The smaller size of the school ensures all staff get to know all the children really well and there is a lovely family feel to the place. Excellent use of the unique opportunities provided by the surrounding Savernake Forest adds extra dimensions and fun the children’s learning which is hard to find elsewhere.

As a family, we feel very lucky to be part of St Katharine’s family and cannot recommend it highly enough as a place from which your child can start their educational journey.

Parent of a year 5, year 3 and reception child

I am extremely pleased with the school, I have watched my eldest two flourish and blossom under the care and skill of the teachers and staff and am very happy my youngest is just beginning their journey here too.

Parent Feedback – Summer 2019

I couldn’t be happier with the school and the quality of education that both my children have received.

A Creative Curriculum

Curriculum development and pedagogy are continually evolving. It is now recognised that a full and rich curriculum, designed to ensure that new learning builds on what has previously been taught, is central to strong curriculum models that promote excellent outcomes for children. At St Katharine’s we are proud to be a reflective organisation that strives to build our practice around strong evidence based research. We are keen to identify best-practice in the education sector and from the many partners that we work with and adapt that practice to fit our school and the learners that we have here.

In September 2019 we identified a need for a full review of our existing curriculum. This work and the progress towards it are recorded in our Academy Improvement Plan.
