Our team of intrepid explorers from Sycamore Class have paid a visit to Lulworth Cove. This trip supports their growing understanding of coasts and coastal regions. By visiting Lulworth the children develop first hand knowledge of a range of geographical concepts that they learn about in the classroom. This trip brought to life such ideas as what is meant by ‘Lulworth Crumple’, that this section of coastline is made up of sedimentary rock formed millions of years ago during the Jurassic period and see for themselves how our coastlines are a continually changing landscape through natural erosion. This knowledge can be applied to coastlines around the world.
