Lily, a pupil at St Katharine’s Primary School, decided that she would like to raise some money for the ‘miles for refugees’ fundraiser, organised by the British Red Cross. Lily was really keen to help especially because she knew winter was a particularly difficult time for people who have had to leave their countries and seek shelter elsewhere.
She walked or cycled over 22 miles (the width of the English Chanel) over the course of a few weeks and managed to raise an enormous £504 for this important charity.
We are very proud of Lily and she is rightly proud of herself. Lily likes the idea of raising money for others because in her words: ‘I just like the idea of helping other people.’
Well done Lily!
