Rugby Tournament at Kennet Valley

February 14, 2020 by Niki Jones
Tag Rugby team in action

On Friday 7th February, 8 children from Sycamore class went to a small schools Rugby Tournament at Kennet Valley which was run by In2sport.

We had a system of two different subs for each match, a boy and a girl, because we had lots of members in our team so we made it fair by using this system.

In the morning, the team warmed up by keeping their layers on and ran around to get their hearts beating. We had some training from Becky (a Marlborough rugby player who was there to help) which got us ready and excited for the matches to come.

We played 7 schools. The games were very close: we won one match, drew one and lost the rest but only by one point each time. It was a cold, windy day but luckily there was no rain and the team kept their spirits up all the way through to the end.

In conclusion, we had a fun and amazing day. We wish it had never ended and the team really worked hard.
