We are so lucky at St Katharine’s to have lots of tadpoles along the lane from us. This is a super learning opportunity for our children to learn about the natural world around them, make observations, describe what they see, hear and feel and understand some important processes and changes in the world around us. Hazel class took a walk out this week and spent some time observing and watching the tadpoles. We were able to use some of our pond dipping equipment to have a closer look and the children thought of some wonderful questions that they wanted to find the answer to over the next few weeks such as:
What happens to a tadpoles tail when it becomes a frog?
What predators eat tadpoles?
We are looking forward to visiting again to see how the tadpoles have changed.
