‘Oak class had a fantastic trip to the Roman baths. They have enjoyed learning amongst the remains of one of the great sites of the ancient world. The children loved being archaeologists and excavating their own finds, in the underground Investigation Zone, surrounded by real Roman remains. They handled real artefacts and walked on the pavements where Romans walked 2,000 years ago. The children were able to explore, investigate and record archaeological materials in a hands-on way, becoming mini-archaeologists and mini-curators as they participated in learning sessions amongst real Roman archaeology.’
