Chestnut Class had an amazing adventure this week at Cheddar Gorge. They had the opportunity to explore stunning caves and learn about the fascinating formations of stalactites and stalagmites. This supported their block of science learning on Rocks. They also began to look at the Stone Age, discovering how early humans lived and adapted to their surroundings. A skeleton had been discovered in the cave from this period in history. Chestnut class are excited to find out more about this period of history later in the year when they will explore what life was like for our ancestors.
The highlight of the day was the climb up the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder. Although it was quite a trek, the view from the top was worth it! The pupils were rewarded a view overlooking the gorge and the River Yeo. It was a day packed with learning, laughter, and appreciation for our natural heritage.
