The NSPCC and their mascot Buddy visited the whole school on Tuesday 10th December, explaining about abuse, worries that children might have, bullying and how to deal with these situations when they occur.
In this workshop we learned the key message: “Speak Out, Stay Safe.” We learned fun actions to help us remember Childline’s phone number (0800 1111) and the NSPCC’s motto: Speak Out Stay Safe.
Child-line is a part of the NSPCC; children of any age can phone them up and talk to them about whatever they want for example: worrying, or embarrassing things, and they will listen and help you with anything you need help with. They even said that children could phone to talk about positive things!
KS1 and KS2 had separate assemblies and year 5/6 also had a workshop. We all now know that we each have an adult we can trust – a ‘Trusted Adult’ i.e. a teacher, a parent, a carer or close relative and that if something is worrying us – we should speak to one of them.
This is a really important message that all children should hear.
