Our Year five and six children, in Sycamore Class, travelled up to London to visit the Imperial War Museum and the Churchill War Rooms in support of their recent block of learning: Britain at War. They have been studying the reasons for the start of WWII, some of the key historical figures from that period in history and some of the key events that shaped the outcome of that conflict. This trip supported the children to see genuine artefacts from that time and learn more about how the war affected the lives of everyday people in Britain and across the globe.
They are now writing essays to collate everything they have learnt to the title: ‘What contributed to Britain’s and its Allies’ success in WWII?’
That’s a big question to answer!
